CASA theory exams

Which exam are you sitting?

Not sure where you fit?

How the licences stack up

Most pilots work up through these in order. You don’t have to sit them all, and you don’t pay again as you move along.

RPL → PPL → CPL → IREX or PIRC
IREX and PIRC are usually one or the other — an instrument rating if you’re heading towards airline or charter work, an instructor rating if you want to teach. RAAus (RPC) sits outside this ladder. It’s an alternative recreational licence, popular with hobby and enthusiast pilots who aren’t chasing a commercial career. Converting an overseas licence? Start at COSA. Air traffic control is its own pathway entirely.

Every licence, one membership

The same full access, whichever you pick

Full-length CASA-style exams

Similar in length and format to the real thing, so there are no surprises on the day. Multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank.

Explanations, not just a score

The reasoning behind every answer, right and wrong — so you learn the theory rather than memorising which option was correct.

Video answers

Loading charts, density altitude, TAS, METAR decoding — the questions that catch people out, walked through step by step.

Unlimited attempts

Resit anything as often as you like, with questions drawn fresh each time. Aeroplane and helicopter both included.
